The technology company Seabery and the Real Club Recreativo de Tenis de Huelva 1889, have signed the renewal and an important extension of their alliance for the fourth consecutive year, consolidating the company’s commitment as the main private sponsor of the Copa de Su Majestad El Rey, the oldest tennis tournament in Spain and one of the most prestigious nationally.
This year, the agreement takes on a special significance: the 2025 edition will be the 100th edition of the tournament, a symbolic figure that highlights the tradition, continuity and relevance of this centennial sporting event. For the first time, the Copa del Rey de Tenis will be held at the Carolina Marín Pavilion in Huelva, a larger capacity venue that will bring the show to a wider audience and further project the image of Huelva at a national and international level. The event will take place on July 12.
To commemorate this milestone, the tournament will feature a truly luxurious line-up: the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, currently among the top ten players in the world, will face Alejandro Davidovich from Malaga, double champion of the tournament and one of the great figures of current Spanish tennis. In the women’s category, the expectation will also be high, with the participation of two outstanding Spanish players: the top ten Paula Badosa and Jessica Bouzas, who will play an exciting duel that promises to be one of the great moments of the event.
A commitment that goes beyond sports
The sponsorship of this tournament is part of Seabery’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) plan, which seeks to have a positive impact on its social, educational, economic and cultural environment. Far from being a simple sports sponsorship, this collaboration is a reflection of a business vision that understands success not only as economic growth, but also as an active commitment to the society in which it was born and continues to have its headquarters: Huelva.
“Being part of The King’s Cup not only connects us with a tradition deeply rooted in our land, but also reinforces our purpose as a company: to give back to the community part of what it has given us, promoting initiatives that generate real value for people,” says Basilio Marquínez, president and founder of Seabery.
The company actively participates in actions that promote education, employability, the development of local talent and support for cultural and sporting events that strengthen the social fabric and collective identity. This approach is aligned with the ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) objectives that mark its global strategy.
In addition, Seabery collaborates with vocational training centers, universities and public and private entities to modernize the educational model through simulation with augmented and virtual reality technologies, democratizing access to quality, sustainable and effective technical training. Its solutions are present in more than 80 countries and have been recognized as success stories in the digital transformation of technical and industrial learning.
From Huelva to the world, without losing its roots
Despite its global projection and having offices in strategic countries such as the United States, Germany and China, Seabery maintains its center of operations in Huelva, where it was founded. This permanence is also a statement of intent: to grow internationally without giving up its roots, contributing to the development of its city in areas such as skilled employment, technological innovation and the positioning of the province as a benchmark in talent and technological industry.
The continued support to the dean of Spanish tennis and The King’s Tennis Cup is another example of this philosophy. A tournament that is not only the oldest in the national tennis calendar, but a true hallmark of the sport in Spain, which has managed to reinvent itself and remain in force since 1912, hosting illustrious players such as Rafael Nadal, Carlos Alcaraz, Carlos Moyá, Sergi Bruguera, Dominic Thiem, David Ferrer and Andrey Rublev, among many others who have made history in the sport of racquetball.
