Tarapacá technical training centre has implemented the first turn-key welding training solution powered with Augmented Reality. This technical training centre in Chile offers 15 superior technical degrees and is embracing new educational technologies.
With the acquisition of this welding training solution, Tarapacá technical training centre will improve the quality of the technical training provided in the Steel Structures Manufacturing and Assembly superior degree.
Both students and teachers were willing to start working with this new educational solution that will make welding training safer for them and more attractive for new students. Applying the Augmented Reality technology to technical training has been proved as a way of enhancing the learning process of students, so that they are skilled enough before going to the real workshop.
Augmented Reality allows students to use real welding components such as torches or helmets while it also allows the training centre to reduce considerably its consumable costs. The AR technology keeps developing all around the world and is one of the biggest technological trends worldwide.
Teachers and trainers are also enjoying the advantages of the Augmented Training Methodology, which allows them to monitor the activities of students, evaluate them and generate detailed reports. Together with the Teacher Software, trainers have all the tools needed to improve the quality of welding training.
Chile is the latest country to apply this methodology to technical training, and it has recently been introduced in another training centre in South Africa.
