  • Partnership agreement between Korea Welding Industry Cooperative (KWIC) and Seabery to improve welding training in Korea

An agreement was signed on the 31st of January after presenting the Soldamatic welding training AR solution in the boardroom of the welding union (Doksan-dong, Seoul).

The agreement signed between the President of the Korea Welding Industry Cooperative, Eun Jong-mok and the Director of AMEA Business Development, Antonio Fernandez has as its main objective the improvement of traditional welding training systems, thanks to the implementation of Soldamatic, the most advanced welding simulation solution on the market. Both KWIC and Seabery are decided to cooperate on a path to introduce the Augmented Reality welding simulator into the welding education and training system in Korea.

Korea’s welding technology has developed to a world-class level along with the growth of major industries such as shipbuilding, steel, heavy industry, and automobiles. The country has a variety of new technologies and even possesses unparalleled technologies in some areas. In this situation, the welding union was considering a plan to train weldersand robots in line with the government’s digital transformation policy in preparation for the fourth industrial revolution.

This system of cooperation between national welding associations and Seabery is repeated in various regions of the world. Associations and institutions such as AWS, DVS, CESOL or TWI aim to improve the training of the welders of the future through the latest technological developments on the market.

In this sense Soldamatic offers the most realistic simulation possible, reducing the costs associated with welding training, as well as the risks inherent to the profession and carbon gas emissions. In addition, it allows to offer a fully customized training to students, with an LMS system that allows individualized evaluation and management of courses and students, providing the teacher with all the necessary tools to take their welding training to the next level.
