Singapore has held the first educational event on welding training trends and technologies where the latest developments like Augmented Reality (AR) welding simulators were presented to the more than 150 attendants from welding training school managers to leading companies within the industrial sector.
The seminar was organised by Uniweld and supported by the Singaporean government and the e2i, the Employment and Employability Institute and counted with the presence of the Singaporean Ministry of National Development, Trade and Industry, Mr. Koh Poh Koon, who was able to experience a first hand look at the future of welding training. The Ministry did not miss the chance to try Soldamatic the first welding simulator powered with Augmented Reality
After the seminar, Mr Koh Poh Koon stated that new technologies and particularly Augmented Reality simulation “will uplift the industry as a whole and that will help address three key challenges – reducing time spent on training and ensuring training is bite-sized; increasing effectiveness and efficacy of training; and ensuring the safety of our workers and the quality of the final product.”
The Singaporean government for their commitment to bring Augmented Reality and new edtech solutions to their country to enhance welding training in Singapore, as other countries like Germany or China are already doing.
